The Ripley Winter Carnival is set to return on Family Day weekend.
Organized by the Township of Huron-Kinloss community services department, the annual event includes fun activities for all ages.
All events take place at the Ripley Huron Community Centre, located at 17 Queen St.
Festivities kick off on Feb. 16 with a costume skate from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., so be sure to dig that Halloween costume back out because prizes are being awarded to the best dressed.
The pancake breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 and runs until 12:30 p.m. featuring pancakes, eggs, ham and toast. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Kids under five eat free and the family price for four people is $25.
Huron-Bruce Minor Hockey is playing games from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. then from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., horse-drawn sleigh rides are available for a tour of the fields hosted by FarHope Farm.
Members of the Ripley-Huron Fire Department are on-site from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. giving fire truck tours and offering safety tips.
Kids can paint on the arena’s ice surface between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Adult supervision is required.
From 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., euchre and bridge tournaments are being held in the social room with prizes for the winners.
Ripley Wolves players are set to judge the hockey skills competition being held from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Kids aged six to 13 can compete for prizes in three categories: best shooter, puck control, and fastest skater. Registration is not required to participate.
