Obituary – Ross Pratt

ROSS PRATT

Ross William Bennett Pratt passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre -Kincardine on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023.
He was born in Wynyard Saskatchewan on Aug. 13, 1944, to Florence Elma and Ross Jackson Pratt. He later lived in Hamilton, Caledonia and finally in Kincardine.
Ross was a man who cherished his family – his wife Lynda (née Hoyle), daughters Wendy (Paul Winkel) and Catharine (Jim Nieman), grandchildren Jenna, Zachary and Clara and assorted rescue cats.
A millwright by trade, and a pilot in his spare time, nothing truly worked properly until it had been subjected to his patented tinkering process. He spent many years volunteering with the Blue Crew and at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, restoring antique aircraft and working the Hamilton International Airshow. Once the planes lost their charm, he became a dedicated member of the Drifters Car Club and he and Lynda would take their antique autos to local shows.
In his later years, Ross would take his souped-up scooter around town running errands and visiting neighbours.
Ross loved animals; any expressions of sympathy/memorial donations would be appreciated by your local animal shelter.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
