Stop Gap ramps have been installed in Clinton’s downtown area, part of their effort to increase accessibility.
“The Stop Gap ramps were installed on Friday and they look terrific,” said Angela Smith, community improvement coordinator for Central Huron. “They’re bright yellow so that helps the visually impaired, and at the same time, anyone with physical challenges getting in and out of stores.”
The town has installed 15 ramps.
“That takes in everyone in the downtown core that can use a ramp,” she said. “There are a couple of stores that have multiple steps in and that is a different challenge. But all of the one-step stores have now received a ramp.”
If any other businesses want a ramp, Smith said they can contact her at town hall and order one.
