Police in Owen Sound have located a suspect accused of stabbing a man over the weekend, leaving him in critical condition.
The incident happened Sunday at around 7:15 p.m., according to investigators. Police were called to an area along Sixth Avenue East and Nineteenth Street East for an altercation between two men.
When officers arrived, they located a 30-year-old man with several stab wounds. He was taken to Grey Bruce Health Services, where he remains as of Tuesday afternoon. Police have confirmed the victim is in stable condition in intensive care.
The victim and the suspect, a 34-year-old man of no fixed address, are reportedly known to each other. The Owen Sound Police Service has confirmed that the suspect was located and arrested just before 9 a.m. on May 16. The accused has been charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
The accused is being held pending a bail hearing on May 16.
