Provincial police say foul play is not suspected after human remains were found along the bank of the Thames River last month.
The troubling discovery was made near River Road on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation on April 10.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oneida Nation police attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, were subsequently called in to assist with the investigation.
On Thursday, Middlesex County OPP announced the remains have been identified, and they do not believe the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death are suspicious.
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased and said no other information about the investigation will be provided.
