Police seek man who asked Ingersoll kids to ‘follow him’

Provincial police are trying to track down a man who allegedly asked a pair of kids in Ingersoll to follow him.

The incident happened in the area of Thames and Bell streets around 3:40 p.m. on April 12, however, it was not reported to OPP until Thursday night. Police were told a man, who was standing near an older model white coloured van with curtains, asked two kids out riding bicycles to follow him to a nearby restaurant.

The kids did not go with the man and no physical injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the suspicious incident and are reviewing video surveillance in hopes of identifying the man.

The man is described as being in his 40s, with shoulder length dirty blonde hair and sideburns. He was wearing a black bandana face covering, black sunglasses, a black hat, a leather jacket, and dark jeans.
