London City Councillors have decided to interview five candidates who have applied for the vacant seat on the London Police Service Board – but will the process result in a fair outcome?
The five getting interviews at to-be-determined dates are:
– Gita Canaran, who is a clinical psychologist who treats first responders.
– Ryan Gauss, who works in the office of MP Peter Fragiskatos, ran Mayor Josh Morgan’s campaign and worked with the RCMP in a civilian role.
– Joseph Wabegijig, the Executive Director of Atlohsa Family Healing Services. He also served on the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Services Board.
– Stephen D’Amelio, the former President of Pride London Festival.
– Michele Anderson, an associate director, academic support and engagement at Western University.
All of the candidates – other than Gauss, who controversially, was the first person selected to replace the departing Susan Toth – represent a minority demographic in the city. Craig shares his thoughts on the mess that council has created and what may come next.
Then, we talk baseball!
Blue Jays fan and fight deck expert Lesley Mak has visited the new-look Rogers Centre and joins Craig to tell us what to expect when we head to a Jays game this summer.
