KATHLEEN MILLARD
Norah Kathleen Millard (née Young) of Kincardine passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Cherished wife of the late Walter Millard (1983).
Loving mother to Charles and Robert (predeceased) and daughters-in-law Laurel (predeceased) and Odette.
Forever remembered by her grandchildren: Robert (Lindsay), Lindsay (Jeff), David (Julie), Hayley (Jamie) and Andrew (MacKenzie) and by great-grandchildren Mya, Sophie, Addison, Aimee, Finley and Laurel.
Kaye travelled extensively with Walter and lived across Canada, Scotland and Australia before settling in Kincardine. With each move, she found ways to impact and improve the lives of others. As a resident of Kincardine for over 40 years, she volunteered at the local Clothes Hamper and was incredibly proud of their achievements in supporting the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.
An avid bridge player, she also held a prominent role in several community bridge clubs. She was recognized for her contributions to the community as Senior of the Year in 2004.
Her passion for collectibles led to many years as an antiques dealer, where she was sought out for her expertise as well as savvy in spotting and negotiating a great deal.
She will forever be remembered by family, neighbours and friends for her sharp wit, knowledge, wisdom, strength of character and fierce independence.
To the matriarch of the Millard family and our very own Queen of Cards, “May the winds of heaven blow softly, and whisper in your ear, how much we love and miss you, and wish that you were here.”
A private family funeral service was held at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home.
Final resting place: Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Kincardine Food Bank appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
