A recent bike theft in Clinton that police investigated resulted in the recovery of numerous pieces of stolen identification.
Huron County OPP were called on April 2 just after 10 p.m. regarding an unwanted person at a business on Beech Street in Clinton. Officers arrived and determined the identity of the subject of the complaint, who had allegedly stolen an employee’s bike at the business. Police found the stolen bike nearby during a search, and also found the alleged suspect, who was found in a nearby building they had broken into.
The suspect was arrested, and during a search, police found numerous pieces of stolen identification in the accused’s possession that had been reported stolen earlier that day.
As a result, a 35-year-old of no fixed address is facing numerous charges including break-and-enter, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.
