A new government role has been assigned to Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Rae.
Premier Doug Ford announced changes to his team of parliamentary assistants Friday, saying the moves will better support the government’s plan to build Ontario.
Rae will now serve as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. He was previously named the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education in June 2022.
“It is a great honour to serve the people of Perth-Wellington and Ontario in this role,” said Rae. “As a first-time homeowner and one of the youngest members of the Government Caucus, I know first-hand the pressing need to build more homes.”
Other new parliamentary assistant assignments include Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Kevin Holland as Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Northern Development and as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Indigenous Affairs.
Mississauga-Erin Mills MPP Sheref Sabawy will serve as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery.
Finally, Dave Smith, MPP for Peterborough-Kawartha, will serve as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
