Two 19-year-olds charged in St. Thomas drug, weapons bust

Two 19-year-olds are facing charges after St. Thomas police seized various illicit drugs and a weapons cache.

Officers with the street crime unit, with the assistance of members of the property crime and canine units, searched a home on Alma Street, north of Talbot Street on Tuesday. The search turned up an unspecified quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and prescription pills.

Five handguns, three pairs of brass knuckles, two butterfly knives, and ammunition were also seized.

Two people were arrested. They have each been charged with five counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon and five counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
