One person hurt in east London shooting

One person has been taken to hospital after a shooting Tuesday in east London.

London police were called about the possible shooting at a home on Langmuir Avenue, east of Highbury Avenue around 12:50 p.m.

Officers arrived to find a person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That individual was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A suspect vehicle took off from the scene before police arrived.

“The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be provided as it becomes available,” police said in a statement.

This is the second shooting in the city in less than a week. Last Friday, two people were in the parking lot of a plaza in the area of Fanshawe and Hyde Park roads when they were approached by another man. That man is alleged to have pulled out a gun and fired at them. One of the men was treated for non-life threatening injuries, while the other wasn’t hurt. Police have said the incident was not random. So far no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
