Man charged after two women threatened, assaulted

A London man is accused of threatening and attacking two women at a home in the northeast end of the city.

According to London police, a man got into a verbal argument with a woman he knew at a home on Huron Street early Saturday. The confrontation escalated with the man allegedly assaulting the woman multiple times. He is also alleged to have made death threats against her.

The woman was able to run to an upper storey of the home where she told another woman about the assault.

It was at this point, the man approached the two women with a knife, police said. One of the women called 911 before the man pushed one of the women to the ground and took off from the house.

Police arrived and arrested a man in the area of Victoria Street and Linwood Avenue.

The man “actively resisted arrest,” police said.

A 48-year-old London man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault by suffocation, resisting arrest, assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats of death or bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on March 15.
