Bruce Power gives $20K to Red Cross quake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria

Bruce Power is sending a $20,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross for emergency relief in Turkey and Syria.

The money will help support thousands of people impacted by the magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 earthquakes that hit the region on February 6, 2023.

The Red Cross is working to provide immediate support, resiliency, and preparedness activities in Turkey, Syria and surrounding areas.  The Canadian Government has offered to match donations from individuals to the Earthquake Appeal, up to a maximum of $10 million.

“Bruce Power recognizes the tireless work of the Red Cross and other international relief organizations as they provide critical support to the people of Türkiye and Syria after these devastating earthquakes,” said Pat Dalzell, Bruce Power’s Head of Corporate Affairs. “The Red Cross, and organizations like these, have selflessly committed to helping those in need around the world. If you’re able, we hope you can join us in donating to these important groups.”

The nuclear power company is also encouraging its employees, and other local businesses and community members to consider supporting this effort.
