Obituary – Paul Heeley

PAUL HELLEY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Heeley, a beloved retired schoolteacher from Point Clark, on Jan. 15, 2023, at the age of 56.
Paul lived a full and active life, always eager to explore the great outdoors and try new activities. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and canoeing, and in the winter months, he enjoyed hockey, skiing, and snowmobiling. He also had a creative side, with hobbies including model making and woodcarving. Throughout his life, Paul maintained a diverse range of interests, including outdoor activities, creative hobbies, and spending time with loved ones. Paul cherished spending time with people and would spread knowledge, joy, and comfort to all.
Paul loved teaching and had the opportunity to travel to Australia as part of a teacher exchange program, where he met his wife Rachel.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 10 years, Rachel Heeley (née Weightman); his father Daniel; and his adorable pet cat, George.
He is survived by his mother Barbara Heeley, brother Chris (Bridget) Heeley with nieces Mikayla and Ariel, and partner Monique Aunger and her children Cobie, Brie, Grant, Fiona and Giselle.
Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
If desired, the family requests that donations in Paul’s memory be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital or SickKids Hospital. These donations will support the care and treatment of children and families, which was close to Paul’s heart.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
