A messy mix of rain, freezing rain, and ice pellets has led to school bus cancellations outside of London.
Buses for Middlesex and Oxford counties have been cancelled for the day Thursday, according to MyBigYellowBus.ca.
The bus cancellations come as roads are slippery due to the freezing rain that began falling early in the morning.
Environment Canada had issued a freezing rain warning for London, Middlesex County, and Oxford County. While the advisory was ended for London and Middlesex shortly before 7a.m., it remained in place for Oxford. The weather agency anticipates the threat of freezing rain will end by mid-morning and rain will taper off in the afternoon.
OPP have advised drivers to slow down and leave extra space between vehicles due to the possibility of icy conditions.
School vehicles in the City of London and Elgin County will operate as usual Thursday.
All schools within the Thames Valley District and London District Catholic school boards will remain open.
