A retiree from London cashed in just over $100,000 after getting six out of seven numbers correct in the OLG’s ENCORE bonus game.
Paired with a $5 winning from his LOTTO 6/49 selection, Russell Huska’s total winnings came to $100,005 in the draw on November 30, 2022.
Huska says he is a regular lottery player and gets his tickets once a week at the same store – Metro on Clarke Road in London.
“LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX are my favourite games,” Huska shared. “I’ve been playing the same numbers for 20 years.”
Huska says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked his winning ticket.
“This guy behind me was waiting to play Proline and I turned around and said, ‘I just won $100,000.’ It feels surreal. This is something I never expected to happen,” he said.
Huska plans to put his winnings toward home renovations.
According to the OLG, more prize-winning ENCORE tickets were recently sold in London. After Tuesday’s LOTTO MAX draw, the OLG says two ENCORE prizes worth $100K each are waiting to be claimed. One of these tickets was sold in London, while the other was purchased over OLG.ca
