EVA WILKEN

Eva Elizabeth Wilken, of Kincardine, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, in her 86th year.
Beloved wife of the late Carl Wilken (2004)
Survived by her sons Paul Wilken (Allison) and Dan Wilken (Cheryl).
Proud and loving grandmother of Alec Wilken (Katie Laport), Krista Wilken (Rhys Jones), Melissa Wilken, Ashley Wilken (Blair Savage), Carrick Wilken, Ashton Wilken and Bethany Wilken.
Cherished great-grandmother of Ela, Bronnwyn, Ethan, Aidan, Logan, Claire, Cody, Eddie and Brooklyn.
Fondly remembered by her brother Keith Carter (Isabel) and in-laws Harold Maurer, Murray Wilken, Joyce Cuyler (Dave) and Barb Dickinson (Doug).
Predeceased by her parents Jack and Eileen Carter, sister Lynda Maurer (2022), and in-laws Gord Dickinson, Eric Wilken and Isabel Wilken.
Eva had a long and distinguished teaching career spanning over 34 years, influencing and shaping the lives of many young people. She was well-respected in the community, developing many lasting and cherished friendships with students and staff alike.
Eva also had a passion for writing and was locally known for her many poems and short stories. She had a strong sense of faith and community, offering help where she saw a need. She loved her family; they were the most important thing to her. Eva will be missed by her large extended family, nieces, nephews, friends and all those who knew her.
A funeral service to honour Eva’s life was held on Jan. 15, 2023 at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home with Ann Maycock as the celebrant.
Spring Interment St. Luke’s Cemetery, Point Clark.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Point Clark would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
