Two people hurt in violent robbery at London Gold Buyer

London police are actively looking for a suspect after two people were hurt during an armed robbery at an east-end business.

Police were called to London Gold Buyer on Highbury Avenue north of Brydges Street just before 10 a.m. Thursday after a man armed with a gun attempted to rob the business.

Two people were hurt during the robbery and were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries, police said. Officers on scene would not confirm reports the pair were shot.

Several police cruisers and a number of officers, including those with the police K9 unit, remained in the area searching for a suspect as of 11 a.m. London Gold Buyers has been cordoned off with yellow police tape. Two cruisers are also parked out front.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area of Highbury Avenue between Brydges Street and Langmuir Avenue.
