Second man wanted in east London shooting

One man has been arrested, while a second man is on the run after a shooting late last week outside of an east London motel.

London police were called to the American Plaza Motel on Dundas Street after gunfire was heard around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

He did not know the men who attacked him, police said

A vehicle that was stolen from the scene has since been found. However, no firearm has been recovered.

Through further investigation, police identified two suspects in the shooting.

Mark Roman Sierkowski, 33, and Rodger Schuyler, 37, have been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, armed robbery, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.

Schuyler faces an additional charge of operating a vehicle while prohibited.

Sierkowski has been arrested and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Schuyler has yet to be taken into custody.
