Ho! Ho! Hometown Christmas returns to downtown Kincardine Friday night. The event runs along Queen Street from Victoria Park to Quinn Plaza from 4:00-8:00pm.
BIA Downtown Development Manager, Jana-Leigh Ibbitson, says stores will be open late, and there are many family activities planned. She told CKNX News what she’s looking forward to the most.
“I’m really excited this year because we brought some interactive hockey games to town. There’s a ski-puck game, there’s a mini hockey rink, and there’s an electric net for people to come and play with,” she said.
Ibbitson encourages residents to meet in Victoria Park for the Lighting of the Park at 6:00pm.
“The municipality actually bought 350 glow lights to hand out to community members to actually join in with the lighting of the park. Those will begin being handed out at 5pm down at Victoria Park at the municipal tent,” added Ibbitson.
She adds kids won’t want to miss out on meeting Santa Claus.
“[Santa] is going to do a mix of roaming the street and actually sitting down so families can take pictures. Santa will be seated at NPX beside Bruce Telecom. It’s completely free, by donation to the food bank if you choose,” said Ibbitson.
