Grant funding makes a difference for Hanover Lions Club

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers recently witnessed the impacts of a grant benefitting the Hanover Lions Club.

The Hanover Lions Club received a $10,000 Community Building Fund grant from the province and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The fund was established to assist non-profits with impacts brought on by COVID-19. The funding was used for storage and rental costs for the Hanover Lions Club, as well as to purchase new technical equipment and promotional materials to help with marketing and fundraising activities.

The Hanover Lions Club was established in 2008, and since their first project in 2010, they’ve raised over $250,000 that has gone directly back into the community. The Club’s first major project back in 2010 was to pledge $150,000 for the P&H Centre’s initial construction.

“Congratulations to the Hanover Lions Club on their success in receiving this grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Community Building Fund. The Club does so much important work in the community, it is great to know these funds will be well used to support their ongoing service delivery,” stated MPP Byers.
