Province invests $1M to help create over 20 new jobs in Elgin, Middlesex

The provincial government said it is providing $2-million in funding to support the creation of over 50 new jobs at several manufacturing facilities across southwestern Ontario.

On Wednesday, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Vic Fedeli announced Ontario is supporting over $24-million in investments made by four local companies to create up to 52 jobs. Two of those companies are in Elgin and Middlesex counties.

Fedeli said the Doug Ford government is providing each business with $500,000 through the Regional Development Program, created to help small and medium-sized businesses invest in new equipment and training to expand operations.

“Our government is proud to support local manufacturers in southwestern Ontario as they grow and create more good-paying jobs in their communities,” Fedeli said Wednesday. “Investing in these types of community-building projects will help us continue to build Ontario and strengthen the economy.”

A total of 23 jobs will be created between the two companies.

Businesses receiving the funds include:

• Arvaspring, a family-owned company in Middlesex County, is investing over $ 5-million to build a new poultry-processing facility. The province said eight new jobs will be created through this project.

• Sante Manufacturing Inc., a health and beauty care and household manufacturer in Aylmer. The company is investing $7.5-million to diversify product offerings to meet consumer demands. This project will create 15 new jobs.

Two facilities in Kingsville are also receiving funding. Idol Core Industries and MC3 Manufacturing’s cumulative investments of $11.9-million will help expand operations and support the creation of 29 jobs.

“We thank Arvaspring, Sante Manufacturing, Idol Core Industries and MC3 Manufacturing for making a significant impact in their communities and for contributing to our province’s dynamic and growing manufacturing sector,” Fedeli added.

The province said it will have invested over $100 million through the Regional Development Program between 2019 to 2023 to help meet a regional need. The funds have supported investments made by other companies that helped create more than 1,300 jobs in Ontario.
