Woodstock neighbourhood blocked off for ‘active’ police investigation

Woodstock police have shut down a section of the city because of what they are calling an “active investigation”.

Police officers flooded the area of Springbank and Devonshire avenues for the operation Monday morning.

No details about the investigation have been released, but the public is asked to avoid the area and obey all road closures.

As a result of the police presence, the Thames Valley District School Board will keep nearby Algonquin Public School closed for the day.

Students will be transitioned to virtual learning, with families advised to check digital platforms for details on learning activities.

Police have said updates on the situation will be provided when they become available.
