The newly-formed South Huron Arts Centre held its Grand Opening on Saturday.
Board Chair, Deb Homuth said the South Huron Community Theatre, Art Around Town and the Cultural Collective have partnered to form the new Arts Centre.
“Often the visual arts, for instance, in many arts centres is the common thing. But we’re unique in the sense that it’s drama, dance, music, visual arts and the traditional arts and crafts. So really five areas,” explained Hormuth.
They’re offering twenty-nine programs this fall.
“[You can] learn to play the base guitar, learn to knit, we have a learn to act kind of program, we have learning to paint with bees wax — who knew that was a thing — a children’s choir. We have a pre-school art class every Tuesday morning and all those things are starting up shortly,” said Hormuth.
More information about them and a schedule of events can be found on the South Huron Arts Centre website.
