Students at White Oaks Public School will be learning online from home for a second day in a row.
The Thames Valley District school board notified parents, students, and staff of a closure by email around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
The board said the closure of the Bradley Avenue school is because of a power outage, but offered no other details. It advised that students would be transitioned to virtual learning for the day.
In an update Thursday afternoon, the school board said that students will have to remain at home on Friday while the board’s maintenance department and external electricians work to repair the “localized” issue.
“Families are asked to check their child’s digital platform for details at the beginning of the school day for learning activities,” the board said. “The safety of all students, staff, and community members is a priority and decisions related to school closures are not made lightly.”
The board said students and staff will return to in-person learning on Monday.
