Over 100 charges laid during long weekend safety campaign by South Bruce OPP

All members of the South Bruce OPP took part in the Labour Day Road Safety Week campaign that ran from September 2nd to September 5th. 

Officers were looking out for the “Big 4” causal factors in serious collisions on OPP patrolled roadways; Impaired Driving, Distracted Driving, Aggressive Driving, and Fail to wear a Seatbelt.

South Bruce OPP officers laid 107 charges during the traffic safety initiative including:

  • 93 Speeding charges
  • 1 Stunt Driving charge
  • 5 Compulsory Automobile Insurance charges   

Over the long weekend, South Bruce OPP investigated six motor vehicle collisions. One had minor injuries reported, and the other five collisions had no injuries reported.

The Labour Day Long Weekend initiative has ended, but the South Bruce OPP will continue to patrol area roads.
