IKEA recalls blinds

If you recently bought some blinds from IKEA, you want to check what ones you got because the company is recalling two products because they do not meet Canadian standards.

IKEA Canada urges customers to stop using the TRIPPEVALS and HOPPVALS cellular blinds and contact it for a repair kit. Otherwise, you can return them to the store for a refund.

The product name is on the inside rail at the top of the blinds.

“IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program to ensure that the products adhere to all applicable laws and standards in the markets where they are sold. Despite this, it has come to our attention that TRIPPEVALS and HOPPVALS cellular blinds are non-compliant with the updated Corded Window Coverings Regulations in Canada,” read a statement.

Canada recently updated the regulations for corded window coverings on May 1, 2021, so the recall only applies to those bought after that date.

IKEA hasn’t had any reports of injury connected to the blinds.

Consumers can contact IKEA online or at 1-800-661-9807.
