Staff shortages and sick leave are again impacting midwestern Ontario’s hospitals.
The Chesley Emergency department will close overnight for five consecutive nights starting Friday until Wednesday morning.
A statement from South Bruce Grey health Centre said all efforts to find staffing for the Emergency Department have been undertaken without success.
Ambulance by-pass will undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
The Chesley ED will be closed:
Friday, September 2 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, September 3 at 7 a.m.
Saturday, September 3 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, September 4 at 7 a.m.

Monday, September 5 at 5 p.m. to Tuesday, September 6 at 7 a.m.
Tuesday, September 6 to 5 p.m. to Wednesday, September 7 at 7 a.m.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
