The Township of Georgian Bluffs recently honoured a long-serving member of council.
Prior to their meeting this week, council took an opportunity to honour and thank councillor Carol Barfoot for over 28 years of public service. Barfoot was first elected to council in Georgian Bluffs in 1991, and she has spent over 4 decades living in the community. She has sat on all township committees, and been an active member of the Kemble and District Lions Club, Sydenham Sportsmen Association, and an enthusiastic community volunteer.
Barfoot was presented earlier this year with a Platinum Jubilee custom coin by MP Alex Ruff, presented to those who have made outstanding contributions to their community.
“I do not regret one minute that I spent as a councillor in this Township” says Councillor Barfoot. “I loved the people here. I did it because I wanted to help, and I’d do it again in a minute.”
