Theft charges laid after recent incidents in Goderich

Charges have been laid against a Goderich resident following two recent thefts.

On August 3rd, Ontario Provincial Police say they received a report of a theft of a laptop at the Goderich Library.

On August 4th, OPP received a report of a cell phone that was stolen from a business on Huron Road in Goderich.

Police say that following an investigation, a suspect was identified.

Upon initiating an arrest, a police release notes that the suspect then resisted arrest and tried to flee, but was unsuccessful.

A search found the accused to be in possession of the stolen laptop and cell phone.

A 31-year-old from Goderich faces charges and has a court date set for Wednesday, August 10th at the Ontario Supreme Court of Justice in Goderich.
