The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says a reduction of emergency department hours at a local hospital will continue into the long weekend.
In a release, the HPHA says the Seaforth Community Hospital Emergency Department will continue to offer reduced hours this weekend due to staffing issues. Tonight (July 29th) the ED will close at 5 p.m., Saturday July 30th the ED will open at 7 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 31st the ED will open at 7 a.m. and regular 24/7 operation hours will resume. The release states that increased demands on local emergency departments, exacerbated by COVID-19, are causing staffing issues, and this will continue throughout the summer.
