Two vehicle crash claims life near Meaford

There is another fatal crash being investigated in the region, this time near Meaford.

One person died in the crash Tuesday just after 6 p.m. on Highway 26, east of Woodford.

Grey Bruce OPP, Grey County Emergency Medical Services, Ornge, the Inter Township Fire Department and the Meaford Fire Department all responded to the call.

Two vehicles collided and an occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at scene. Three others in that same vehicle were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

The occupant of the second vehicle was transported by Ornge to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The identity of the deceased is not being released as police try to contact family.

The names of the other people involved have not been released.

Highway 26 was closed in both directions between Grey Road 18 and Eleventh Line for several hours.

There have been several other fatal crashes in the region this week including one southeast of Stratford, one west of Drayton, one involving a cyclist in Southgate, and a fatal glider crash between Mount Forest and Keldon.
