Canadian rockers Finger Eleven, I Mother Earth coming to Western Fair

Canadian rock and pop stars will be helping to bring the Western Fair back to life following a two-year pandemic pause.

Fair officials announced on Monday that back-to-back nights of concerts will be held at the fair’s new live music venue located within the sports centre.

Toronto-based indie pop band Valley has been tapped to headline the first night on September 14. The JUNO award-nominated quartet is known for hits like “This Room Is White” and “Like 1999”. Opening for the group will be New Friends, a pop-rock band formed by four friends in 2018 during their time in Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program. The group’s song “Purple Candy” has been streamed more than 3.5 million times on Spotify.

On September 15, Finger Eleven and I Mother Earth will rock the stage.

Finger Eleven is a Juno-Award winning group that has been around since forming in Burlington in 1990. The rockers have released seven studio albums and between 1995 and 2016 were among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada. Their hit “Paralyzer” topped the Canadian Hot 100 and both US rock charts, as well as reaching No. 6 on the US Hot 100 and No. 12 on the Australian Singles Chart.

Also formed in Canada in the 1990s, I Mother Earth is known for Canadian Top 10 Hits “Raspberry”, “Another Sunday”, “Used to be Alright”, and “One More Astronaut”.

London pop punk band Full Throttle will be opening. The teenage trio was this year’s recipient of the 2022 Forest City London Music Awards youth award.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. at www.westernfair.ca. They range in price from $39.99 to $59.50. Admission to the Western Fair is included in the concert ticket.
