London Pride Parade comes back with a bang

Come rain or shine, Londoners weren’t going to be stopped from celebrating the return of the in-person Pride Parade.

Severe thunderstorms held off on Sunday afternoon while the 26th annual Pride Parade made its comeback.

Floats, vehicles, marchers, and performers set off from the Western Fair grounds before making their way down Dundas Street, Waterloo Street, Dufferin Street and then over to Victoria Park where the rest of the days’ events will continue.

MP Peter Fragiskatos, Dad Club London, the Thames Valley District School Board, Fanshawe College, local unions and legions, and London Transit are among those who participated in the parade.

An increased police presence marched in the parade and mingled in the crowd following a disturbance during the Wortley Pride Event a week ago.

The multi-day event closes in Victoria Park with a concert featuring ASKHER, Laura Gagnon, The Kate Channer Band, and Bif Naked.
