Man charged, replica firearms seized in southwest London

An argument between two men escalated quickly at an apartment building in southwest London over the weekend.

According to London police, officers responded to a weapons call at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday at a complex of residential buildings on Wonderland Road South, just south Viscount Road.

Police say two men were sitting inside one of the units when they began to argue with each other. One of the men reportedly uttered threats at the other and then produced a handgun. The victim escaped the home and called 911.

Officers with the Uniformed Division and the Emergency Response Unit arrived at the building and a suspect was arrested. During a search, police seized two replica firearms.

No one was hurt during the incident.

A 26-year-old London man has been charged with pointing a firearm and uttering threats of death or bodily harm.

The accused is expected to appear in court on August 23.
