London police constable charged with assault

A London police constable who has served with the service for three years faces one count of assault.

Last Tuesday, officials with the London Police Service said a criminal investigation was launched after they received information about an officer’s conduct.

On Monday, London police announced that the officer subject of the probe, 29-year-old Jordan Thomas, has been charged with one count of assault.

According to police officials, the incident that led to Thomas’ charge happened on July 5, somewhere in south London. The adult male victim of the alleged assault did not sustain any physical injuries. No other details about the altercation have been provided.

Thomas has been placed on administrative duties and will appear in court to respond to the charge on August 18.
