Charges have been laid against a 24-year-old woman accused of striking and spitting on a St. Thomas police officer.
Police were called to a disturbance on Princess Avenue on Monday. No details about the disturbance itself were released, but responding officers arrested a woman.
While trying to take her into custody, the woman is alleged to have hit and spat on an officer, police said.
She was taken to police headquarters where a search turned up a small amount of crystal methamphetamine.
The woman, whose name was not released, has been charged with one count each of assaulting a peace officer and drug possession.
