OPP respond to multiple motorcycle crashes in Elgin County

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from Elgin County and other first responders were kept busy with collisions involving motorcyclists on Saturday.

At approximately  11:21 a.m., emergency services responded to Highway 3 and Culloden Road in the Municipality of Bayham. Police said that a motorcycle and SUV collided at the intersection resulting in injuries for everyone involved. The 31-year-old motorcyclist was transported by Ornge to a hospital to be treated for serious non-life-threatening injuries while both the driver and passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries.

At approximately 12:34 p.m., emergency services responded to a John Wise Line address located in Southwold Township. Police determined that a motorcyclist lost control of his bike after hitting the shoulder of the roadway. The 55-year-old suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for further treatment.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., police, fire, and paramedics responded to the intersection of Talbot Line and Springfield Road. OPP said that a 51-year-old motorcycle driver collided with a motor vehicle and suffered minor injuries.

Investigations into all three crashes are ongoing.
