For the second time in a week the Middlesex-London Health Unit has issued a heat alert.
The alert will be in effect Tuesday and Wednesday. The Environment Canada forecast is calling for a high of 33 degrees on Tuesday, with a humidex of 39. Wednesday’s high is projected to be 31.
The Health Unit has a list of recommendations for battling the extreme heat on their website.
MLHU staff also recommend watching for the symptoms of heat illness. They include dizziness and fainting, nausea and vomiting, rapid breathing and heartbeat, and extreme thirst.
The heat is expected to break in the evenings during the alert. The temperature will fall to 22 on Tuesday into Wednesday, and then to 17 on Wednesday into Thursday.
On Thursday, forecasters are calling for a high of 28 – which falls short of the minimum for a heat alert.
