Moulton signs in Stratford
Jordan Moulton is making the jump from the Kincardine Bulldogs to the Stratford Warriors in the GOHL. Moulton travelled to Stratford to sign this past Sunday.
One of the amazing things about Moulton’s journey is he played mostly forward until last year with the Bulldogs. He ended up being the Bulldogs top defenseman and the rookie of the year. Jordan was an AP with Stratford and ended up playing for them in playoffs.
Stratford GM Nick Farr says he first noticed him playing against Mitchell who Farr’s son, Tyler, was their goalie. As the season went on, he was more impressed with his play and signed him as an AP player. Moulton played seven regular season games and all 17 playoff games and Farr said he looked more and more comfortable as the season progressed. Farr likes the physical aspect of his game and his solid puck moving skills he brings to the rink every night.
Moulton learned quickly that the hockey in Stratford was a lot quicker than the play in the PJHL. The team is on the ice more at that level, so everything is quicker, including skating, passing and transition game.
Moulton is moving to Stratford on Labour Day weekend. He is taking a job as an electrical apprentice, which furthers what he is doing now.
Moulton started his minor hockey in Kincardine before going to Huron Perth AAA in minor atom. He played one year of peewee in Kincardine before moving to Grey Bruce AAA until minor midget.
Kincardine Bulldogs GM Warren Beisel is happy for Moulton and his decision to play for the Stratford Warriors.
“Jordan had a special season last year for us,” he said. “He developed into one of our top defenseman. His leadership in the dressing room and on the ice will certainly be missed. We still want to be a development program for our players that wish to move onto a higher level. Moves like this help us in recruitment of younger players that want the opportunity to use us as a stepping stone. It is great to see another hometown Kincardine minor hockey and Grey Bruce Highlanders player play at an extremely high level of hockey. Moulton’s parents Dawn and Paul are looking forward to travelling to his games this winter.

The KDSS Boys Baseball team travelled to OFSAA in Belle River.They lost their first game to Mitchell, 8-5. In their second game, they lost to St.Michaels, 11-5. They then defeated Mitchell in a consolation game. Congrats to the team for making it that far.
