Elections Ontario says 1,066,545 voters cast their ballot at area advance polls during 10 days of advance voting in this year’s general election.

That represents 9.92 per cent of eligible voters in Ontario.

In 2018, 6.8 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballot early. Overall, voter turnout was 56.67 per cent.

Over 120,000 vote-by-mail kits were sent out by Elections Ontario.

747 kits were requested in the riding of Huron-Bruce, 618 in Perth-Wellington and 745 in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.

That works out to just under one per cent of the eligible voting population in each case.

For those who have applied to vote by mail, Elections Ontario must receive the completed voting kit by 6 p.m. Thursday.
