London police have laid charges against three people after a cruiser was heavily damaged during a weekend arrest.
The incident happened at around 9 p.m. Sunday when officers located a man wanted on outstanding warrants getting into a car on Queens Avenue near English Street.
In an attempt to stop the man from leaving the area, police parked a marked cruiser behind the vehicle. However, the woman driving the car backed into the cruiser twice before exiting the vehicle and running away. While police attempted to arrest the man, who was allegedly resisting, another man came over and reportedly tried to help free the first suspect by assaulting the officers.
Police say one of the accused men caused damage to the police vehicle before both men attempted to escape. Officers caught up to the two a short time later and took them into custody.
No one was injured during the altercation and damage to the police cruisers is pegged at $7,000.
During a search of the two male suspects, police seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, a taser, and brass knuckles.
A 40-year-old London man is charged with possession of a schedule I substance, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and resisting arrest. The second man, a 39-year-old also from London is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, obstruction, mischief under $5,000 and resisting arrest.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
London police continue to search for the female suspect identified as 26-year-old Taylor Lee Eugenio of London (pictured below). She is wanted on a warrant for dangerous operation and mischief over $5,000.
Anyone with information regarding Eugenio’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
