Letter to the Editor: What is transparency?

“Commitment to transparency” ” The NWMO is committed to transparency.” This is what the NWMO states continually. Just what is this transparency? The public transparency seen is all the headlines noted in the newspapers, etc. Pictures and articles about the NWMO working in the community and giving lots of money to community groups/organizations to make themselves look like a good community contributor. When you are trying to buy/take over a community, one has to make headlines to be noticed. Is this what NWMO calls transparency? Should one want to know all about the NWMO and just what they are doing, one has to dig deep and read all the NWMO highly involved information, often “too deep” for the average individual to understand or take an interest in.
