Home County returning to Victoria Park this July

After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, a beloved folk music festival is making its return to Victoria Park this summer.

The Home County Folk League announced on Wednesday the Home County Music and Art Festival will be an in-person event in the green space July 15, 16, and 17.

The last time the festival, which typically draws more than 50,000 people to the park, was held was in the summer of 2019.

Headline acts for the 47th edition of Home County include Mélisande, Emm Gryner, and William Prince. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. More than 100 artisan, craft, and food vendors will also be set up in the park for the three day festival.

“Although much has changed in recent years, Home County is extremely proud to maintain an admission-by-donation festival,” the Home County Folk League said in a statement. “This model allows the Home County Music and Art Festival to offer everyone affordable access to art and music.”

The league also offered its thanks to those who continued to donate over the past two years when the festival was shifted to online programming only.

Darin J. Addison returns this year as artistic director of the festival. He held the position until 2018 when Tim Fraser took over. Fraser has since stepped down to focus on his young family.
