The NHL playoffs begin this week, with at least six or seven teams that can win the cup. Last year, I picked the Florida Panthers and they lost in the first round to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This year, I am going with Florida and Colorado in the final, with Colorado finally winning the cup again. At least six other teams could win, including Minnesota, Calgary, Edmonton, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Carolina or Pittsburgh.
I am cheering for the three Canadian teams to win, but it will be tough. Calgary might have the best chance, with Jacob Markstrom in net.

Jeremy McQuillin had the Bruce County Kings organization looking good a couple of weeks ago. It was really impressive walking into the Davidson Centre and seeing how well organized the event was. The Kings are a local spring hockey organization that continues to grow and attract the best local players. The second installment of the Bruce County’s Kings Day was a resounding success, after a two-year hiatus.
The Kings went 9-1 through 10 games against what were mostly teams from the Collingwood Blue Thunder program. The 2010 team played Forte hockey out of London, and the 2009 team played the team out of Huron County, named the Maitland Ice Sharks.
The Kings’ executive would like to thank the arena staff for their patience throughout the day, as well as the Municipality, for allowing the ice to remain in until Sunday, allowing time for the event to run. The Old Stars and Bulldogs were also generous enough to allow their respective dressing rooms to be utilized throughout the day. Bar Down did an excellent job in meeting the needs of the hungry players and spectators.

In PJHL action, three out of the final four teams, which will play in the PJHL, have been decided. Grimsby, Lakeshore and Clarington are in the final four, with Stayner ahead of Mitchell, three games to two.
