GO-VAXX bus to make multiple stops in London area in May

Ontario’s mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic is scheduled to return to London and Middlesex County seven times this month.

The GO-VAXX bus allows residents still in need of a first, second, or third dose of the vaccine a more convenient way to get the shot by coming to those who have been unable to attend mass vaccination clinics.

“The goal of the mobile clinic is to reach people who have not yet been vaccinated due to barriers, such as convenience and limited transportation options,” the Middlesex London Health Unit said in a statement.

The first of its planned seven stops will happen on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lucan Biddulph Community Memorial Centre in Lucan. The following day the mobile clinic will be at Sherwood Forest Mall in London from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Other planned visits are as follows:

• May 11 – Kiwanis Seniors’ Community Centre, 78 Riverside Drive, London, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• May 14 – Northland Mall, 1275 Highbury Ave N, London, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• May 20 – Westmount Shopping Mall, 785 Wonderland Road South, London, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• May 21 – Shops on Sydenham, 51 Front Street, Strathroy, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• May 28 – Pond Mills Square, 1200 Commissioners Road East, London, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointments are no longer required to receive the vaccine at the mobile clinic, as walk-ins are now welcome, the health unit said.

There are five GO-VAXX buses touring the province delivering shots to Ontarians. They are operated in partnership with Metrolinx. All COVID-19 public health safety measures are followed on board, including pre-entry symptom screening, mandatory face covering while inside, and post-vaccination monitoring.

The bus has made five previous stops in the city since it launched last fall.
