Charges have been laid against a 28-year-old man after a police raid on a Norfolk County home turned up cocaine and an imitation firearm.
Members of the Haldimand and Norfolk OPP community street crime unit searched the home on Queensway West in Simcoe on Thursday. Police did not release the exact quantity of the illicit drugs seized.
A Norfolk County man, 28, was arrested. He is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation order.
“Our community street crimes unit has been very effective with proactive illicit drug investigations. This is yet another example that highlights how the police and the community continue to work in partnership to resolve crime,” said OPP Inspector Shawn Johnson.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated, according to OPP.
