Charges have been laid against a St. Thomas man accused of assaulting police officers while being taken to and from the courthouse.
According to St. Thomas police, a special constable was allegedly hit while getting the man from a holding cell for his recent court appearance.
Two other officers were spat on and threatened while escorting the man to the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre after he was remanded into custody, police said.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
A 36-year-old St . Thomas man is charged with two counts of assault, uttering death threats, and three counts of breach of probation.
