The Town of Minto will soon begin a search for a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Current CAO Derrick Thomson has announced his departure, as he moves on to become the new CAO for Bruce County. Thomson had served as the Minto CAO since January of 2020.
In a release, the Town of Minto thanked Derrick for “helping guide Minto through the pandemic while continuing to enhance essential services through initiatives related to fiscal responsibility, community growth, and economic development.”
Minto Council will be discussing and planning for the recruitment of a new CAO in the coming days.
Mayor George Bridge says, “On behalf of the entire Town, I would like to thank CAO Thomson for his public service and guiding leadership that saw us through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Derrick has helped build a foundation of modernization and good governance. We wish Derrick well in his new position.”
CAO Thomson adds, “Thank you to my Minto colleagues. It has been a privilege to work with this motivated Council and staff supporting a strong community through these challenging times. Thank you also to the business community and residents. Under Minto’s Department Head Team, I see continued success and a bright future.”
